Realist Narrative
Realist narrative adverts are adverts where the audience can relate to the situation that is occurring in the advert. This advert tries to relate to people who are interested in exercise and sport, and mainly people who try to motivate themselves when exercising, which is exactly what is shown in this advert. They try to relate to their target audience at 0:03 where there is a voice over, which sounds like a voice in someones head when they try to motivate themselves to continue exercising, which is exactly what they show at 0:12. By doing this it makes the audience feel more engaged in the advert, since they have been through situations that are happening in the advert, it makes the advert more enjoyable for them to watch.
Anti Realist Narrative
Anti realist narrative adverts are adverts that have content that would not occur in the real world, and is usually made to seem unrealistic and strange, compared to realist narrative adverts. In this advert they intentionally try to be very unusual, and have a man act very strange, while eating ice cream off of his head at 0:21, and unrealistically it seems that the icecream does not seem to be melting. Due to the weirdness of someone eating ice cream off of their own body, it seems very unusual for this to happen in the advert, which is what makes it so memorable for the audience, since the unusual content makes this advert stand out from other adverts.
Animated
Animated adverts are lineally just adverts that are fully animated on computers, and are typically aimed towards children, due to their cartoon style, it appeals to children more than adults. These type of adverts are usually made to be unrealistic, and contain things that would not occur in the real world, they do this at 0:08 where they show penguins working in a factory, which seems very humorous and will appeal to their target audience. By making adverts animated, they typically aim to their target audience, since this advert is for children, since it is for chocolate, by having it animated, they are able to do things that would not occur in the real world, such as having penguins working in the factory would seem funny to their target audience, since they know it could never happen in the real world.
Documentary
Documentary adverts are types of adverts that are made like documentaries. In this advert they talk about how the eggs are not fake at 0:30,and it would be much easier to have fake eggs, but they would not be as good if they were fake. These type of adverts are made to inform the audience more about the product.
Talking Heads
Talking head adverts are types of adverts that have people talk about the product that the advert is for, and they give their opinions on the product. In this advert they have an old woman talk about two teas that her husband likes at 0:03, and she gives her opinion on the tea at 0:12 she explains that she does not even like tea which adds humour to the advert. The reason why they have people talking about the product in the advert, is so that it can inform the audience if the product is good or not.
Stand Alone
Stand alone adverts are types adverts that only have one advert for their product. This advert has only one advert that is like this, the reason for this is that it makes the advert more memorable for the audience. since there is only one advert that is like this, they will recognise the advert straight away, and they would recognise the product straight away, and by having a memorable advert, they will want the product that the advert is for.
