Evaluation

1: The brief was to make an an advert that would last at least 30 seconds or near 30 seconds and would appeal to a new audience while still keeping existing audience. The advert that we made met the brief criteria and managed to make an advert that lasted 27 seconds so Im happy it was at least close to 30 seconds. We managed to keep the previous audience by keeping the Turkish vibe with use of Turkish music like the old advert had. We got to attract a new audience by including the internet trend known as "Salt Bae" which the new audience will find humorous since it is something they would not expect to see in an advert.
2: We pitched our idea to our whole class and our teacher. The first idea that we presented was not conveyed effectively since our teacher thought it was too similar to an idea that other people on the internet has made, so he gave us an idea that we could use an internet trend. When we presented our second idea to the class the whole class really liked it including our teacher, which told us that our idea was a good idea for an advert.
3: There are many things that we included in our advert that we thought would make the advert appeal to the audience such as including the internet trend known as "Salt Bae" that a lot of people would find humorous since it is not often when internet trends are included in adverts, so it makes it interesting to watch. We included a lot of shots of the "Salt Bae" impersonator in multiple locations holding the Turkish Delight with an emotionless expression, which gives an ironic humour since it makes the audience wonder why he is so emotionless in all of these areas.

4: The techniques that we used in our advert would be the editing techniques and camera techniques that we used when we made the clips cut to the beat which adds more energy to the video and a lot more entertaining to watch since it is going so fast it makes it thrilling to watch. We used camera techniques when we used multiple different camera shots to make the advert more interesting to watch since the man is going to all of these different interesting locations with the Turkish Delight and the audience will wonder where he will present the turkish delight next. We chose all of these techniques as we felt that it would make the whole advert very interesting for the audience to watch.
5: There are many parts in our advert that would engage the audience, such as at 0:02 when the music starts it attracts the audience since the music is very upbeat and makes the audience excited when watching. Another part that engages the audience would be at 0:03, the audience starts to notice that the man is going to all of these lovely locations, making them wonder what other locations the man is going to go, which will make them keep watching so they can find out. This suits the brief since as it makes the advert that many people can enjoy as there are so many things that engages them.

6:  We chose one actor at the age of 17 using the internet trend known as "Salt Bae". We intended to have this after our original idea did not seem good enough and this ended up having a great impact since it included a person aged our target audience age, since there are many people around that age that use the internet and would be interested in these types of internet trends so they would be interested in our advert.

7: Our advert has a positive message saying that our chocolate is a great chocolate to get since it tells them that the chocolate is a trendy new product as it includes internet trends in the advert, and it is a treat that you would want to take everywhere you go since it is that good and it is what the guy in the advert does, so it tells the audience that it is so good that it is a chocolate that you would want to be seen holding. We think that we still keep older audiences by still including the Turkish vibe it had before with the music that we used, and we get a new audience by including a internet trend that many people enjoy.
8: The editing and filming was successful, when we were filming we knew where exactly to film and what to film. There were some problems with the filming since first we just filmed the whole thing in a park, however our teacher did not like the idea of it was just filmed in one area so we were told to film in different areas, luckily that there were so many different locations in London that would be perfect for our advert, but it did take a while to walk to the different locations, apart from that the filming itself did not take that long, but it was not the same with the editing since there was a lot of changes that sir told us to make, such as adding text and a voice over.

9: We only used one character which was the man dressed as the internet trend known as "Salt Bae" who was dressed just like the person in the internet trend to make it as accurate as possible, we used multiple locations to make the advert more interesting to watch. All of this ended up working well since we managed to make the advert look just how we imagined it to look.

production log 7

This week is the week where we make the final changes to our advert that we made for Turkish Delight. We had to make sir check over our advert a lot, since he said that we needed to shorten some of the shots that we did for our advert, so we shortened the shots of me lying next to a statue and holding a Turkish Delight, and we needed to cut down the shot of me standing inside a telephone box while holding the Turkish Delight. We were told to turn the music a bit down and get rid of the flashing effect since we were told that it made the advert very difficult to watch, we ended up changing the flash effect so it only appears when a certain part of the music comes up so it cuts to the beat.

Sir has asked us to come up with a better slogan but we did not manage to come up with another slogan since we thought that the slogan that we picked made sense since the man takes the/Turkish Delight with him everywhere he goes, so we just stuck to the slogan we already had. Now all we need to do is get someone to do the voice over, we got 3 people to do the voice over for the slogan since the first two did not work out that well, luckily the third one went perfectly, so after we added the voice over we were told by sir that our advert was finally complete.

this is the seventh entry and we have made a lot of progress by finishing our advert. The one thing we found difficult was trying to come up with a different slogan for our advert, luckily sir said we should just stick with the slogan we have right now. Next week now that we finished our advert we will start on the evaluation for our advert.

production log 6

This week we focus on editing the advert that we filmed last week for Turkish Delight, We finished editing the advert very quickly since we had no trouble placing the clips since we knew everything about what the advert was going to look like. When we added everything including the music and text at the end we got sir to look at our advert and he did not like the idea of the whole advert being filmed in the same location, so he asked us to re film our advert. It did not take that long to re shoot our advert and when we came back next lesson we added everything that we re shot and got rid of everything that we filmed before except for the salt bae impersonation shot since we could not find a table that we can use for the advert so we just stuck with the shot we used before.

This is the sixth entry and we have still made a lot of progress re filming almost our whole advert advert and managing to edit it all in one lesson, and we included music and text. The only problem that we had this week was re shooting the scene where we did the salt bae impersonation and where I was cutting the Turkish delight and putting salt on it, unfortunately we could not find any place to film it, but luckily we already filmed the shot before so we could just use that. Next week we plan on making the final changes to our advert and get sir to check it so we can upload it to our blogs

Production log 5

This week we are mainly focusing on filming since it is the holidays and we have a lot of time to actually film our whole advert, and we got all of the things that we needed which was the knife, Turkish Delight and the salt, we also obviously brought the camera and the tripod that we needed to film the advert.

When my group met up we all decided on where we could film since we needed somewhere outside and we then realised that the park right next to the school has a table that we can use for our advert, so we thought that it would be a perfect place to film the advert.

We managed to to film everything very quickly since we decided to film the whole advert in the one location that we found. Right after we finished filming the scene where we do the salt bae impersonation with the Turkish Delight we decided that since we were in a park with a lot of park rides, we thought it would be a good idea to do a couple of scenes where the salt bae impersonator were on a bunch of park rides, very emotionless and acting like he is not impressed. We thought that this would be a great opportunity to make our advert a lot more interesting to watch, so we filmed all that we could think of and then decided to go home after we filmed all of the shots needed.

This is the fifth entry and we have made a lot of progress for managing to finish all of the filming we needed, and we managed to film everything that we wanted to film, and filmed a bit extra to make the advert more interesting to watch. The only problem was looking for a place with a table so we can film our advert, luckily we found one in the park next to the school. Next week we plan on putting our footage on the macs and editing it at school.

production log 4

This week we are focusing on re doing our presentation along with two other groups who had to re do their presentations. When it came to presenting our pitch again we showed that we made all of the changes that sir told us to make. Presenting the actual pitch went really well, the both of us remembered every slide and did not need to look at the screen to remember each slide, which is what we thought would happen and sir ended up really liking the whole idea for the advert.

Once we presented our idea we were told that before we start actually filming our adverts we have to make some changes to the written work for the pre production of our advert. We were told that we needed to change the production schedule, and put more filming dates since we didn't think the filming would not take that long, but sir said to put them just in case we need to re shoot some shots. Sir asked us to change the cast list since there were a lot of people that dropped out of the advert, so we did not need to include them in the cast list

It turned out that it did not take that long to finish all of the corrections since for the group that I was in, we did not really need to change much when it came to making changes to our work. so we made all of the changes that we were told to make, and finished it very quickly.

This is the fourth entry and we made  a lot of progress by re doing our presentation very well and making all of the changes to our written work. One challenge that we had to face this week would be having to figure out what we actually needed to change, since we thought that our written work had nothing wrong with it, but luckily that issue was solved when sir told us what we actually needed to change. Next week we plan on starting the actual filming for our advert.

production log 3

This is the third week where we work on the idea for our advert. I managed to finish all of my slides and saw that the person I am working with Daniel, took a while to finish all of his slides, which I didn't mind since he was almost finished with all of them, and I knew he was going to finish the power point since we need to present out power point to the whole class on Tuesday, so he needed to finish it soon anyways.

When it came to the day that we needed to present our power point to the whole class, Daniel told me that I needed to change one slide quickly before we present, so I asked sir if we could make a quick change to one of the slides, and he allowed me to quickly go on one of the computers and make the change to the slide that Daniel told me to change, turns out I needed to change the channel that we are going to place the advert on and I managed to do it quickly and it took less than a minute so we can carry on with the presentations.

When it came to presenting our power point sir actually liked our power point but mentioned that it was not a good idea to do something similar to an advert that somebody else has made, so he gave us a suggestion to do an advert based on the current internet trend "Salt Bae" but do it with a Turkish Delight instead of meat, so we agreed that we would continue working on our power point but include the "Salt Bae" idea instead of the one we already used, and we would present again next week.

This is the third entry and by finishing our power point and agreeing on a new idea, we made a lot of progress. One challenge that we had to face was thinking of a new idea since sir did not like the one that we chose, luckily sir told us an idea that we could use for the advert. Next week we plan on continuing on working on our powerpoint and present the powerpoint again with the new idea and with all the changes made.
